WWE Vengeance 2011 Results: Zack Ryder Proves He Is a Star in the Making

Donald WoodOct 24, 2011

Zack Ryder is one of the most popular stars in the WWE today, and the company is starting to realize the Internet champion's drawing power.

Although he lost to Dolph Ziggler at Vengeance, the loss was via a dirty move from Zig-Zag and Jack Swagger.

That almost always means that the feud between Ryder and Ziggler will continue, and that’s a good thing for the WWE fans and the company itself.

While it was shocking to see CM Punk ahead of John Cena on the sales list, it was a real wake-up call for the people who pull the strings to see that the gear for Ryder, who rarely appears on television, was in the Top 10 of sales.

The fan devotion stems from his Internet show Z! True Long Island Story and the fact that Long Island Iced Z has crowned himself Internet champion of the world.

WWE officials wanted to make sure the love would translate to television and see if Ryder could put on a great show for the fans with a stellar match.

Not only was the match between Ziggler and Ryder one of the better of the night because of the circumstances, even the ending in favor of Dolph meant good things for Ryder.

With Ziggler undoubtedly tired, Ryder carried the match for the most part, and despite the loss, he's ensured that he will fight for the belt again.

If Ryder isn’t U.S. Champion by Survivor Series, then he will win it during that PPV in front of all the people that helped him reach that plateau.

Zack Ryder deserves gold, and it's just a matter of time before he gets it. Woo Woo Woo!
