Superstar Of The Year: Who Really Should Have Won?

Last night's RAW was really something. The Miz and John Morrison won tag team of the year(like they rightfully deserve). Edge and Vickie shocked everyone by winning couple of the year. Vladimir Kozlov won Breakout Star of the year.

Last night was full of high's and low's, but the nitty-gritty of the night would have to had been Superstar of the Year winner Chris Jericho.But did he really deserve it? Let's break down the five key factor of the nominees that involved them this year.

Chris Jericho

1. Fueded with JBL in the early part of 2008.
2. Returned to WrestleMania losing Money in the Bank.
3. Started a fued of the year candidate with Shawn Michaels, which intensified when he popped HBK's wife in the mouth.
4. Won the World Heavyweight Championship at Unforgiven.Defended title in  in steel cage and a ladder match and retained title.
5. Ended Batista's eight day reign as World Heavyweight Champion on Raw in a steel cage match.

Triple H

1. Won Elimination Chamber match to earn a shot at the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 24.
2. Returned to WrestleMania, but lost after Orton punted him in the head.
3. Won his 12th World title at Backlash which would begin a seven month reign.
4. Redeemed himself by finally defeating John Cena at Night of Champion to retain the WWE Championship.
5. The only champion to retain his title at Unforgiven in the Championship Scramble.

Batista

1. Defeated Umaga at WrestleMania in a brand supremacy match.
2. Lost to Shawn Micheals at Backlash, but defeated him in a Stretcher match at One Night Stand.
3. Won the World Tag Team Championship with John Cena after defeating Cody Rhodes and Ted Dibiase.
4. Defeated John Cena at SummerSlam, in doing so he put Cena on the shelf for three months.
5. Won his fourth World Heavyweight Championship, but only held it for eight days.

Jeff Hardy

1. Defeated Umaga in a steel cage match after a Whisper in the Wind from the top of the cage.
2. Challenged Orton for the WWE Championship, but lost.
3. Lost Intercontinental Championship to Chris Jericho (making him an 8x I.C. Champion). Got suspended.Missed WrestleMania.
4. Returned from suspension and picked up where he left off at.Was drafted to SmackDown. Getting back into the WWE Championship picture.
5. Started fueding with Triple H and also defeated Undertaker in an Extreme Rules match.

John Cena

1. Returned from pectoral injury at Royal Rumble and won the Rumble.
2. Faced Orton at No Way Out for WWE Championship, won by DQ.
3. Lost at WrestleMania 24.
4. Started fued with JBL. Had a great Street Fight at Great American Bash with JBL.
5. Got injured at the hands of Batista,but returned at Survivor Series to win World title.

Edge

1. Defeated Rey Mysterio to retain World title at Royal Rumble and No Way Out.
2. Finally main evented WrestleMania in a match with Undertaker, defended the World Heavyweight Championship and lost.
3. Went on to fued with Undertaker over vacated World Heavyweight Championship.Won title in a TLC match, in doing so Undertaker was banished from WWE.
4. Vickie Guerrero brought Undertaker back after Edge cheated on her. Undertaker defeated Edge in Hell in a Cell match at SummerSlam and sent the Rated R Superstar to hell.
5. Edge returned from hell at Survivor Series to win the WWE Championship, becoming a six-time World Champion.

Batista had a decent year but it was nothing compared to 2007, which was his best year to date.John Cena was busy filming his new movie 12 Roundsand plus he got injured. Jeff Hardy started off great,fell off when he got suspended,but got right back up.

Chris Jericho got off to a slow start but sped things up win he won a record setting 8th Intercontinental Championship, fantastic fued with Shawn Michaels and won two World titles in the process. Triple H reign as WWE Champion for seven months and retained his title in the Championship Scramble.

By the way things look, it's a close call between Chris Jericho and Triple H, therefore I'm declaring the winner of Superstar of the Year...Triple H and Chris Jericho. It's a tie.
