WWE Vengeance 2011 Results: Mark Henry and Big Show's Match and What It Means

David LevinOct 23, 2011

Is it fair to call what happened in the ring between Mark Henry and The Big Show a win for the reigning World Champion?

I don't think it is a win, but it is a title retention and with that comes a bunch of questions moving forward. Whether this was planned or not, it kind of puts a chink in the armour of the creative in deciding what happens now between these two big (extremely big) men and the state of Smackdown.

Does this mean Big Show gets another shot at the title or that this feud will continue? There are others like Randy Orton, Sheamus, Cody Rhodes and even Christian to some extreme, who deserve a shot at this title.

Big Show should be fourth or fifth on this list of contenders.

Could it mean that Mark Henry's character is perfect for the times and that he will have a long run as a heel champion? I hope that is the case because while his tactics are not as good as other former heels who have held gold, his "Hall of Pain" is as good an angle as anything we have seen in a while.

Does this mean we are also waiting for a new contender, say a masked Kane to come back from "injury" and lead the charge and take the title or become involved in a possible three-way battle for "big" supremacy?

It would seem the IWC wants Kane back, masked and more evil that he has been in a long time. The thought is Kane, although a contender before he left to deal with injuries was losing some of his mojo. He needed a change, a harsher exterior.

And because the match did not end with a winner or a loser, the creative side must now regroup and change their balance. Henry probably would have won this match because having him as a heel for a long haul, like a JBL or Superstar Billy Graham, makes sense right now.

Henry may be the best thing going in the business today.

Does this also mean Christian and Sheamus jump into title contention right away or do they beat the crap out of each other first? Either way, it is quite entertaining.

And then, because he is still the one we are waiting on, will we see Daniel Bryan get a personality first, and then challenge for the World Title before Wrestlemania?

All these things left unanswered. All these things because a ring could not hold 800 pounds of wrestlers.

All these things to look forward to on Friday night.

For the first time in some time, the need to watch both Raw and Smackdown is ever present.
