WWE Vengeance 2011 Results: A Complete Recap of All the Action

The Doctor Chris MuellerOct 23, 2011

Another WWE pay per view is in the books and some of the results are a bit out of the norm. Big Show and Mark Henry went to a no contest after a middle rope superplex by Henry to the Big Show broke the ring in the same way Brock and Big Show did years ago.

There were a total of five title matches tonight, and surprisingly no titles changed hands.

Dolph Ziggler and Air Boom had a tag team title match which saw the reigning champions defeat Dolph and Swagger.

Dolph immediately had to defend his US title against Zack Ryder following his loss in the tag team match. Air Boom got involved at one point and were ejected from ringside which may have given Ziggler the edge since he still had Swagger and Vickie in his corner.

Orton and Cody Rhodes had a grudge match which saw both men have their fair share of offense. Orton ended up besting his former protege with a nasty RKO.

Beth Phoenix beat Eve in what I would say was a way above average divas title match. Eve had some very unique moves throughout.

R-Truth and The Miz got the win over Triple H and CM Punk after Kevin Nash made his return and beat down Triple H.

I was confused as to how the ref did not disqualify Miz and Truth after Nash appeared but in all the mayhem he may not have seen the attack on the outside.

Sheamus defeated Christian after a heated battle which saw both men take it to the other as if a title were on the line.

The final match of the evening saw Alberto Del RIo beat John Cena in a last man standing match that went all over the place.

After the destruction of the ring, Cena and Del Rio were forced to fight in the lopsided ring with no ropes and only one standing ring post.

The match spilled out into the audience and into the backstage area. Cena put Del Rio through a table at one point but only after Del Rio knocked down the whole interview area set onto a prone Cena.

The match was very competitive as both men were nearly counted down about a dozen times. In the end it was Del Rio who picked up the win after taking Cena out with the championship belt. Miz and Truth helped Del Rio bet the win by delivering their finishers to Cena before the end of the match as well.

Overall I would say this was a pretty average PPV in terms of overall action. The Cena vs. Del Rio match told the best story, but in terms of in-ring action, I would have to say Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton had the best outing.

Henry superplexing the Big Show was one of the highlights of the night and I can imagine they will show that on Raw about a dozen times.
