WWE Vengeance 2011: What's Next for Triple H/CM Punk After Loss to Awesome Truth

The fact that Triple H and CM Punk didn't win tonight is a bit of a shocker.  Punk is on a roll right now and Triple H has always had a bit of trouble losing matches.

Yet Awesome Truth won, but instead of feeling like they might have done something special, it all came back to one man.

Triple H.

Triple H dominated the match.  

Triple H was the one who dominated the offense.

Even when he was getting dominated, it took two wrestlers to wear Triple H down.

Triple H was even the wrestler who got beaten up by Nash and therefore has an excuse as to why he lost the match.

Yes, CM Punk had to face Truth and the Miz because of Nash's interference, but it doesn't stack up as well as a surprise attack by someone who wasn't even in the fight to begin with.

The loss tonight won't hurt Triple H because even in defeat, he still looked like the stronger wrestler who had to have multiple opponents to truly hurt him.

He will most likely appear on RAW tomorrow and claim that he was unjustly beaten down and wants a rematch.  Then he will try to find out why Nash was in the crowd and how he got through security.

Overall, he will still look like the strongest man on the roster who doesn't struggle with former champions.

As for Punk?

He got screwed at the end having to face both Miz and R-Truth at the same time, but he was nowhere as dominant as Triple H and was finished off by the wrestlers involved in the match.

It won't hurt CM Punk, but it won't help him either.  It will keep him looking like a great wrestler, but not the dominant force that Triple H was shown to be.

In other words, it stunts the momentum that he had moving forward.  He will come out on RAW and continue to claim that someone is against him.  But he won't appear any more dominant or be any closer to an answer.

Triple H ended up coming off better than CM Punk in a loss and better than the Miz and R-Truth in victory.

He just didn't need it.
