Vancouver Canucks Acquire David Booth from Florida Panthers in Great Trade
The Vancouver Canucks acquired forwards David Booth and Steve Reinprecht, as well as a 2013 third-round pick, Saturday night from the Florida Panthers in exchange for a pair of veteran forwards, Marco Sturm and Mikael Samuelsson, according to NHL.com.
Booth, 26, is a talented left winger who scored 23 goals with 17 assists last season in 82 games for the Panthers.
He is a top-six forward who hasn't developed into the star player the Panthers were hoping he would be, but maybe a change of scenery will help him.

One of the biggest needs for the Canucks after the first few weeks of the season has been a winger, and Booth is a fantastic upgrade at that position.
He goes to a real hockey city with a passionate fanbase in Vancouver, which will surely help his game.
This trade makes the Canucks younger at forward and gives them a top talent they can develop into a top-line player.
Booth has the ability to be a perennial 30-goal scorer, and playing with many talented players in Vancouver should help his stats increase.
The Canucks are 4-3-1 this season with nine points, and are second in the Northwest division. After a poor start to the season, Vancouver has won two straight games.
TSN's Darren Dreger tweeted the following about the Booth-to-Vancouver trade:
"Like the Canucks trade. Booth is a good young player, but he needs to find his scoring touch again and compete. Change should help energize."
The Panthers lose a talented young player who just could not find his true potential with the team.
His exit will allow other young prospects to have a better shot to prove themselves at the NHL level.
After a disappointing Stanley Cup Final loss last season to the Boston Bruins, the Canucks have shown their fans that they are still committed to putting together a championship-caliber team, maybe now more than ever.
