Top 5 Canadian WWE Superstars of All Time

Justin WatryOct 22, 2011

WWE has a ton of Canadian born stars from their past. Some were good, while others went on to have great careers. Today, I am going to be naming my favorite five wrestlers from Canada.

It will be my opinion, but feel free to leave your thoughts below in the comment sections. Everything is up for debate, as I count down the five biggest names from Canada in WWE history. Let's start with a controversial pick...

5. Trish Stratus

1 of 5

She is the greatest diva in WWE history. Kelly Kelly is her "replacement," but there really is no replacement for Trish.

Being from Canada, she makes this list for the sole reason of having some mainstream appeal. There are a few people to "cross over" into becoming a "celebrity" wrestler. Trish has done that.

You add in her WWE career, and you have a future WWE Hall of Famer. Funny how everyone bashes these "models" that join the company, yet Trish started the exact same way...think about that one!

4. Roddy Piper

2 of 5

By all accounts, he was born in Canada. If I am wrong, I apologize.

I admit. He was in his prime, just as I was being born. I fully admit that. Being in my early 20s, I never got a chance to live through Piper's prime.

That being said, what isn't there to love about this man? His promos were great. His in ring was decent, and he even held many memorable Piper's Pit segments.

His work as a color commentator was a joke, as was his WCW run, but I can forgive him. He is a WWE Hall of Famer, and he deserves this spot.

3. Christian

3 of 5

Yes, this may seem like a strange pick, but it is my opinion. He deserves a nice spot here for his tenure in this business. There is nothing better than watching a guy start from the bottom and reach the top of this business.

Christian did that.

While he is on the tail end of his career, he still has a lot to offer to the company. His friend, Lance Storm, was close to making this list, but he could not crack the top five...

2. Bret Hart

4 of 5

Am I a Bret Hart fan. Yes. Am I a diehard that worships every match he ever had? No. Not even close!

That being said, it is hard to ignore his history. It is hard to dispute some of his great matches. Sadly, his entire life will always be remember by one night in Montreal. It is shame, but at the same time, it had to be done.

His brother, Owen, did not make the list. He would have probably been at No. 5 instead of Trish, but Trish gets the nod. Sorry Owen fans!

Now, the No. 1 Canadian born WWE Superstar of all time...

1. Edge

5 of 5

The Rated R Superstar!

The Ultimate Opportunist!

The multi-time World Heavyweight Champion and one of the greatest WWE Champions of all time!

Edge is another guy who scratched and clawed his way to the top. He has done it all.

From jobber matches, to tag team stuntfests, to mid card title belts, all the way to main eventing Wrestle Mania against The Undertaker. There is not much higher than that...

Opinions may differ on this topic, but this was an easy decision for me. Thank you Edge! Thank you Edge! Thank you Edge!
