WWE Vengeance 2011: Will Zack Ryder Finally Be Able To Become US Champion?

Zack Ryder has been on a hot streak lately having gained pin-fall victories over former world champion Jack Swagger and current US champion Dolph Ziggler.

This Sunday is Ziggler's opportunity to become both US champion and tag team champion, but he has to beat Long Island Iced Z in order for that to happen.

Ryder's rise to prominence has been interesting as well as entertaining. He went from being a knockoff of Edge to a Jersey Shore Jobber to an Internet sensation.

His efforts with his YouTube show won him over with fans without having had any TV time to back it up. WWE noticed his hard work and decided to take a chance with him and it has paid off.

Ryder gets great ovations when he enters the arena and his merchandise has been selling better than anyone expected, which always makes Papa Vince happy.

This Sunday could be Ryder's time to take that step into a true singles push with the US title. Ziggler has been a great champion and his team with Swagger does not look like it will be slowing down anytime soon.

This match could be WWE's way of transitioning Ziggler from the singles title picture to the tag title picture.

I, for one, would be a little disappointed if that were the case because Ziggler is destined to hold the world title again. His only reign to date seemed to last all of a few minutes, but he is meant for greater things.

Ryder has a big supporter in CM Punk and even Triple H has been reported to take a liking to Ryder in recent months, so hopefully that translates to a title win for the Internet champion.

Speaking of his made up title, I kind of hope he breaks it out for the pay-per-view. It would be kind of funny to see him celebrating as if he were now the holder of two singles titles.
