The Day Has Come: Jeff Hardy To Recieve a World Title Run?

As you know Jeff Hardy has been in the WWE for well over a decade. He started back in 1993 and has not stopped his free spirit high flying ways. eE has won a total of 16 titles in the WWE.

We cannot forget his accomplishments in TNA either. But for about the last year we have been dieing to see a World Championship around Jeff Hardy's waist. The WWE teased us when they put the ECW Championship around Matt Hardy, but now it is Jeff's turn.

According to the pwrestlngnews.com Matt Hardy did an interview and was asked about his brother Jeff, and if he'd ever receive a World Championship, here it is:

"Two weeks ago, the Sunday morning news on Jeff Hardy involved WWE's attempt at a storyline with Hardy "being found unconscious in a stairwell" at a local Boston hotel before Survivor Series.

His brother Matt Hardy says he has no such worries about Jeff in real-life, though.

"I think these days Jeff gets a bad rap for some of these things, because Jeff is really good and he's in a great place in his life," Matt Hardy told Mike Mooneyham in the Charleston Post-Courier.

"There was a time, if you go back to 2003, had you asked me if I was worried about Jeff, I would have told you that I really was worried about Jeff. Now I have zero worries about him."

Matt says he doesn't even worry when he sees Jeff take huge risks in the ring because Jeff is a free spirit who usually is in control of his body.

"It's no big deal for him to take some kind of huge risk, and he really doesn't worry about the consequences," Matt said. "Sometimes in life that's how it is. It's hard for him to live in a system to a degree. But Jeff is actually doing real well right now."

Does he think WWE will take the next step with Jeff and put the WWE Title on him, which is currently held by Edge?

"I think WWE will pull the trigger on him. I hope they do because it's something he totally deserves," Matt said. "He's sacrificed his body and everything he has for sports entertainment business through WWE. I think it'll happen sooner rather than later. Jeff has really grown up and matured a lot inside."

Hopefully this will happen sooner rather than later as Matt said, but the WWE still has concerns. Jeff has been a great performer in the WWE for a long time. And people have no idea that he is older than he actually is.

He flies around the ring and looks like he is still in his teens, which is when he started with the WWF way back when. We think about the Undertaker when we think about people who have been around long.

We think about HBK or Triple H too. But we don't think of guys like Jeff Hardy, why? He has been just as good as all of them. He has held every title they have, except one. Which is my point.

Hardy has been around so long and yet he doesn't have one thing that Taker, HBK, and Triple H have, and that is a World Championship run.

Combined they have held more World Championships than Jeff has won in any of his championships in both the WWE and TNA.

The WWE was skeptical about giving Shawn Michaels his first World Championship. They felt as if he was a great performer and could bring in crowds, but didn't trust him with the WWF Championship.

And they ended up giving him his first World Championship, although it was in controversial fashion. HBK still cannot go to Canada and not get booed. But yet he became one of the best ever, will Jeff Hardy?

Although people have been waiting for a long time now for Hardy to win the big one, it may have to happen later I am afraid. See Edge is most likely getting into a feud with Hardy which helps.

But Edge is a big draw himself, and people do like the guy. He is a heel and his job is to make you hate him, and he does a great job at it. He is arguably the best heel in all of the WWE right now.

I think that it will be sort of how Matt Hardy and MVP's feud was. Long and very creative, eventually leading to a Hardy win. See Matt Hardy fought over the United States Championship, Jeff Hardy will fight for the WWE Championship.

I could see him winning at Wrestlemania in the future, that is if he is in the match. But I feel that it would be best if he won the Miney in the Bank and beat whoever the Champion was at the time.

I presume it would be Edge, but rumors say that Taker will get another Championship run at Wrestlemania as he has for that last 2 years in a row. But strictly a rumor.

Edge might be going down again the a MITB winner. He has cashing in the MITB twice himself, so wouldn't it be ironic if it were cashed in on him twice? Maybe it is a possibility.

But as B/R wrestling writer Shane Howard said The WWE won't keep their fans waiting long for Jeff to win, and I agree. Although I still think that Undertaker will win first. Just Wrestlemania fact.
