WWE: Rock vs. Cena Not for Title at WrestleMania 28; Another Star to Get Shot
The Pro Wrestling Torch, via WrestleZone.com, is reporting that WWE officials are wary of making Rock vs. Cena at WrestleMania 28 for the WWE Championship.
The argument for making the epic clash a singles match without any gold on the line is that fans would more or less see the outcome as being too predictable.
Since The Rock is not a permanent fixture in the company, most would be led to believe he would never leave Miami as the WWE Champion.

Consequently, WWE executives have tentatively pegged another superstar to receive a WWE title shot at the grand show, presumably winning it.
This wrestler is the only person to eclipse John Cena in merchandise sales within the last five years. He has single-handily breathed life into a product that was stale before his meteoric rise. And according to the same report, he is expected to enter into a title feud with Alberto Del Rio leading up to Survivor Series.
Of course, the performer I'm referring to is none other than the "Straight Edge" Superstar, CM Punk, who is the ideal choice for a title shot at the "Showcase of the Immortals."
Despite winning the Money in the Bank match on two occasions, Punk hasn't really had a WrestleMania moment that will stand the test of time and define his ascendancy as an elite main-eventer.
Once he does carve his own legacy on the ultimate stage, the outspoken and savvy raconteur will finally have the platform to lead a new era into a decade that could be his own.
The sinuous path he takes to get there—disorienting twists and sharp turns included—will be interesting to watch.
