Jahvid Best Injury: Why Detroit Lions Are Doomed with Maurice Morris at RB
Despite having just one loss this season, it seems the sky is falling on the Detroit Lions in 2011.
After years of disappointment, the Lions have finally found the right combination of talent, experience and chemistry to compete with the league's best.
However, after last week's loss to the San Francisco 49ers, the Lions received bad news regarding the status of their backfield.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Starting running back Jahvid Best went down with the third concussion of his career, and an attempted trade for Philadelphia Eagles running back Ronnie Brown was voided. Details later emerged that the trade was voided after Lions running back Jerome Harrison—who would have gone to the Eagles—was found to have a brain tumor during his physical.
The freakish developments now leave the Lions with two healthy running backs in 10-year veteran Maurice Morris and former LSU Tiger Keiland Williams.
Hardly a Pro Bowl backfield.
Just one week after quarterback Matthew Stafford was sacked five times by the 49ers, he'll be facing off with two of the best pass-rushers in the league in Atlanta's Ray Edwards and John Abraham.
The lack of a running game will allow the Falcons, and every other one of Detroit's opponents, to pin their ears back and rush Stafford—effectively negating the threat of Calvin Johnson deep down the field.
Also note that concussions are not such an easy injury to bounce back from. With the emerging technology on head injuries and football, Best is likely to miss a few weeks.
According to Rotoworld.com, Best has not been in the Lions' team meetings this week and is obviously expected to miss some time.
Expect the loss of Best to lead to more losses for the Detroit Lions this season.
