WWE Vengeance 2011: CM Punk Heel Turn Isn't in the Cards vs. Miz and R-Truth
Considering the fact that CM Punk and Triple H were bitter enemies just last month as Punk wrestled Triple H at Night of Champions in an attempt to remove him from power, it is understandable why some might think that Punk could turn on the COO when the team up against The Miz and R-Truth at Vengeance.
As interesting as that would be, it simply wouldn't make sense from a storyline perspective, and it would halt Punk's momentum as one of the WWE's top faces. If anything it would be a TNA-esque swerve that is done strictly for shock value.

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
That generally isn't the way WWE operates, though, so I'm very confident that Punk will remain face, regardless of the result of Sunday's match.
It became very obvious to me that Triple H and Punk would team up against John Laurinaitis, who is clearly responsible for Awesome Truth's antics.
It may seem a little odd for two guys who looked to be mortal enemies to team up, but The Miz and R-Truth interfered in their match at Night of Champions and attacked Punk following his match at Hell in a Cell.
In that respect it would make very little sense if Punk decided to side with Miz and Truth. The more likely scenario is that Laurinaitis and perhaps a returning Kevin Nash will interfere in the tag match, allowing Miz and Truth to come out victorious.
This would signal the formation of a heel group involving Laurinaitis, Nash, Miz and Truth, whose main goal is to remove Triple H from power and seize control of the WWE themselves. This will only serve to strengthen the partnership of Triple H and Punk, and it will probably gain some other stars like John Cena as well.
I think it's very clear at this point that the main event at Survivor Series will involve a five-man team led by Triple H taking on a five-man team led by John Laurinaitis. The loser would likely be fired with the winner taking control of the company.
Perhaps at that point a CM Punk heel turn could happen, but even then it seems unlikely. I expect Triple H's team to consist of himself, Punk, Cena, The Rock and one other superstar against Laurinaitis' team of Miz, Truth, Nash and two other wrestlers with one possibly being Alberto Del Rio.
Aside from a Punk heel turn not working from a storyline perspective, he has simply become too popular in his current role to switch him back to being a heel.
Punk has entered the conversation with Cena and Randy Orton as the company's premier performers and he has even surpassed both in merchandise sales.
I think Vince McMahon and the WWE realize that they have something really special with Punk right now and they'll want to capitalize on it for as long as possible. Punk would still have a huge amount of fans as a heel, but being face allows him to be more mainstream and helps him appeal to a wider audience.
Punk isn't going to remain a face forever, but at this point in time the WWE is much better served by keeping him aligned with Triple H in an attempt to overthrow the tyrannical Laurinaitis.
