St. Louis Rams: 5 Pictures That Sum Up the Rams' Lost Season

David HeebNov 11, 2011

The St. Louis Rams aren't an overly-talented team.  They aren't the kind of team that can overcome dropped passes, stupid penalties and injuries to key players.

Unfortunately for the Rams, they have been plagued this season by dropped passes, stupid penalties and injuries to key players.

Did I mention their offensive line sucks?

I didn't?

Well, their offensive line is pretty awful.

So, if you add it all together, the Rams are 0-5.  They also have the worst offense in the NFL.  And instead of competing for the NFC West Championship, they are the leaders in the clubhouse for the No. 1 overall pick in this April's NFL draft.

So, take a look at 10 pictures that sum up the Rams' season so far.

Danny Amendola...OUCH!

1 of 5

Danny Amendola was the Rams' most consistent receiver.  When he went down with a season-ending elbow injury in Week 1, it left the Rams with a bunch of young receivers on the roster, many of them undrafted free agents.

Justin King

2 of 5

Justin King has been picked on all season long.  Because of injuries to the team's starting cornerbacks, King has had to cover a lot of No. 1 receivers this season.  As you can see, it hasn't always worked out in the Rams' favor.

Sam Bradford

3 of 5

Sam Bradford has been hit, sacked or knocked down more than any other QB in the NFL this season.  You just knew it was a matter of time before he wound up injured and on the sidelines.

Ron Bartell and Jerome Murphy

4 of 5

Ron Bartell and Jerome Murphy were supposed to be the team's starting corners this season.  Murphy suffered a season-ending injury in training camp.  Bartell got hurt against Philly in Week 1 and was done for the season.

The Rams have been through seven cornerbacks since the start of training camp.  That is a recipe for disaster.

Sam Bradford...Again.

5 of 5

Sam Bradford has just been pulverized this season.  At this pace, it appears more likely that Bradford will become the next David Carr as opposed to the next Aaron Rodgers.

Poor O-line play, a depleted secondary and a very weak receiving corps...Add it up, and these five pictures say more about why the Rams are 1-7 than five thousand words.
