MLB World Series 2011 Schedule: Rangers Are Too Good for Cardinals to Handle

With Game 1 of the 2011 World Series coming up tonight, it's time to start really dissecting what we are expecting to see between this matchup of the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals.

While I fully believe that the Cardinals are a great team and they deserve to be there, it is my personal opinion that the Rangers are just too good.

As a Tigers fan I watched as the Rangers absolutely pummeled my team. Sure, Detroit was able to take them to Game 6, but overall Texas was just the dominant team.

Their starting pitching rotation led by C.J. Wilson is not great, but there is no doubt that they get the job done.

That being said, starting pitching is not where the Rangers make their money.

What makes the Rangers so dangerous is their lineup, jam packed with hitting studs, and then their bullpen.

With a lineup that boasts the likes of Josh Hamilton, Michael Young, Adrian Beltre, Mike Napoli, and the rising star Nelson Cruz, the Cardinals are going to be in for a very rough series.

Simply put, these guys can knock the ball around.

Once they get a lead on you it's almost impossible to come back. Either they are going to keep scoring, or just stand-pat until the bullpen can take over.

Take over may be somewhat of an understatement as well, considering how impressive the pen has been this postseason.

Alexi Ogando is arguably the best long-reliever in the game, and following him comes any combination of Darren Oliver, Scott Feldman, Mike Adams and then Neftali Feliz to close out the game.

This is a powerful team that can win in a majority of different ways.

I don't think the Cardinals stand a chance.
