2011 Fantasy Football Week 7 Deep Sleepers to Consider

James Hatfield Oct 19, 2011

Many of us have issues during the bye week and have to work through the waiver wire to find some spot starters. Coming into Week 7, here are the players that I am targeting to use when I am thin at QB, RB, WR, or TE.

Montario Hardesty (RB, CLE) Hillis has a potential injury and Hardesty will likely get the lion's share of the work. Overall, Hardesty is starting to take carries from Hillis, but if Hillis sits this week, then Hardesty is a nice sleeper.

Maurice Morris (RB, DET) I am almost certain that Best won't play after getting another concussion last week. I just don't see the Lions taking the risk, especially with all of the depth at RB. Morris will be the workhorse this week, but, after the bye, expect Ronnie Brown to take over the No. 2 RB spot in Detroit. Morris is a solid sleeper this week.

Damian Williams (WR, TEN) Tennessee did not take anyone before the trade deadline, although they are currently looking at Terrell Owens. For this week, Damian makes a sneaky WR play—especially in PPR leagues.

Greg Little (WR, CLE) Greg Little is an an upward trajectory value in fantasy leagues. If he is still on your waiver wire, I implore you to take heed of my advice and pick Little up now. His value in dynasty leagues is excellent and can be counted on this week for solid production.

Jared Cook (TE, TEN) Another Titans player? I know, but Cook is drawing a number of targets from Hasselbeck, and if your TE is under-performing, then snag Cook.

Fred Davis (TE, WAS) Did Davis get dropped in your league? If he did, then go ahead and pick him up and expect solid production in Week 7.

Tim Tebow (QB, DEN) It wasn't too long ago that people were using Tebow at the end of the season to help win fantasy games. He has lots of boom/bust potential, and I am hoping we see the boom. He is a risky start, but worth taking if you are in a tight spot.

Digging deeper... for those in super deep leagues.

Charlie Whitehurst (QB, SEA) Many of the above players are not available in deeper leagues. BUT, Whitehurst should be available and I am certain will draw the start in Seattle. With Sidney Rice healthy and some QBs under-performing, then consider Whitehurst—especially in two-QB leagues.

Lance Kendricks (TE, StL) Remember how excited we were for this kid at the beginning of the season? He is starting to get the hang of things, and in a deep league where TEs are hard to come by, then you may want to gamble on Kendricks.

Jacoby Jones (WR, HOU) Can you say boom or bust? He is still getting the targets and if you have an under-performing WR and are looking to gamble a bit, then you should strongly consider Jacoby.

Demaryius Thomas (WR, DEN) Super sleeper alert! Stash this guy at the very least. When healthy, Thomas has the frame and talent to be a top talent. If he can stay healthy, then you may have a nice super sleeper on your hands. If you are truly gutsy, then give him a start in Week 7.
