MLB World Series 2011 Schedule: Cardinals Set To Blast off at Busch Stadium

After the National League's 5-1 victory over the American League in this season's All-Star Game, the NL champion St. Louis Cardinals have home-field advantage to kick off the 2011 World Series against the Texas Rangers.

The Cardinals, who have surprised baseball by winning 16 of their last 21 games in the regular season and going on to defeat the Philadelphia Phillies and Milwaukee Brewers, boast a strong offense led by Albert Pujols and a pitching staff led by Chris Carpenter.

The Rangers, who knocked off the Tampa Bay Rays and Detroit Tigers, have one of the best offenses in baseball complete with the red-hot Nelson Cruz.

They also have a starting staff that has been able to make up for the departure of ace Cliff Lee, which includes C.J. Wilson and Colby Lewis.

Carpenter and Wilson will square off in Game 1 on Wednesday.
