David Garrard to Raiders?: What Could Free Agent QB Bring to Oakland Offense?
The Oakland Raiders lost quarterback Jason Campbell for the season thanks to a broken collarbone suffered in Sunday's 24-17 win over the Cleveland Browns. That left the team sitting at 4-2, but without anything resembling a competent signal-caller on the roster.
The woefully inconsistent Kyle Boller and inexperienced Terrelle Pryor are all that's left on the Raiders' quarterback depth chart.
With that in mind, the Raiders are apparently scrambling to find a starter to replace Campbell, and they have reportedly reached out to free agent David Garrard.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Garrard was cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars just before the season and has yet to latch on to a team. The veteran quarterback could probably step in right away and be an immediate upgrade at the position.
If nothing else, Garrard has been consistent and accurate over his 10-year career. For his career, the East Carolina product has completed 1,406-of-2,281 passes (61.6 percent) for 16,003 yards, with 89 touchdowns and 54 interceptions. While his career quarterback rating of 85.8 isn't stellar, it also isn't awful.
In 2010, Garrard finished the year with a 90.8 passer rating in 14 games. He completed 64.5 percent of his and threw for 23 touchdowns with 15 interceptions.
While he's not a spectacular option or a guy who could single-handedly win games for the Raiders, Garrard would give the team a consistent passer, who would be a capable game manager. Considering that Oakland relies heavily on its running game—which currently ranks second in the NFL, averaging 160 yards per game—that is all the team would need to be successful.
Garrard could be a perfect fit for a Raiders team that is smelling a playoff berth. If they can't swing a trade for a better option, they should sign him up as quickly as possible.
