WWE Vengeance 2011: Alberto Del Rio Needs a Clean Pin over John Cena

John Cena is the measuring stick that all other wrestlers in the WWE are put against. With that in mind, there is no better way to put Alberto Del Rio over as a strong heel champion than by having him pin Cena clean in the center of the ring.

With John Cena getting ready for the push to the Survivor Series tag match with The Rock and the subsequent feud afterwards, there is no reason to have John Cena in the title picture anymore.

For that reason alone I don’t believe the WWE will let Cena win, but the company is not above making their biggest star look indestructible by having the end be tarnished with controversy.

The WWE has a tendency to sabotage themselves with stupid finishes like that, but if they really care about getting Del Rio over as a champion, he NEEDS to win clean over Cena at Vengeance.

John Cena’s popularity isn’t going anywhere with one loss, and any momentum that this defeat will cause will be filled with 10 times more momentum when The Rock shows up.

Alberto Del Rio has slowly started to get over with the crowd, and a definitive victory over the best WWE has to offer would further get ADR over with the crowd.

Not only would all the Cena haters back Del Rio in this match and give him an enormous pop if he won clean, there would be immense heel heat from the Cena supporters who don’t like seeing their star lose.

While having Cena lose goes against everything that WWE has tried to build for the last few years, it’s the right way for the company to go and in the long haul, the best outcome for both Cena, Del Rio and the WWE.
