NFL Trade Rumors: Raiders Not Capable of Offer Sweet Enough to Get Carson Palmer
The Oakland Raiders would love to acquire the services of Carson Palmer, according to Jason Cole at Yahoo! Sports.
Oakland lost their starting quarterback, Jason Campbell, during the game yesterday to a broken collarbone and it is very likely that he will be out for an extended period of time.
Currently sitting at 4-2, the Raiders are hoping to make the playoffs for the first time since 2002.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
They simply can’t afford to roll with Kyle Boller, who owns a 20-26 career record and is better suited as a backup or rookie Terrelle Pryor who is just coming off suspension.
It makes perfect sense for the Raiders to aggressively target Carson Palmer, easily the best "available" quarterback on the market right now.
Unfortunately for Carson and the Raiders, it’s not going to happen.
Before the Campbell incident even went down yesterday, Palmer inquired once again to Cincinnati Bengals’ owner Paul Brown about being traded.
Brown once again said no and it does not seem likely that he moves the quarterback he spent a No. 1 overall draft pick on to a potential playoff team this year.
Oakland could potentially offer them a first-rounder for Palmer, but that is simply too high a price to pay for a 31-year-old QB, especially if he does not even lead them to the playoffs.
The Raiders are also without a second, third and fourth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft according to ProFootballTalk.com. This makes it highly unlikely that the team has the assets to pry Palmer away from the Bengals without giving too much up.
It seems that the Raiders are either going to have to just stick with what they have or go after someone like David Garrard.
Neither of those are great options for a team that seemed playoff bound, but injuries and unforeseen circumstances happen all the time in this league.
It’s a shame we won’t see Carson Palmer suit up in the silver and black this season barring a change of heart from the Bengals' owner.
