Andy Pettitte Holding Out—But Joe Torre Believes He'll Be a Yankee
Joe Torre doesn’t think Andy will leave the Yankees after this year. The Dodgers haven’t seriously gone after Andy, but rumors were swirling that he might leave for LA to join Torre and Donnie Baseball.
We all know Andy wants to return to the Yanks, but now it’s all about Cashman striking a deal with Andy and his agents. When it will happen? I don’t know, but maybe we will hear something from the Winter Meetings.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
Joe Torre has spoken with Andy Pettitte, the Dodgers’ manager confirmed to Newsday, but doesn’t foresee Pettitte heading West for a reunion with his former manager.
“I don’t think that’s going to happen,” Torre said Thursday, in a telephone interview.
Torre’s Thoughts:
"“I don’t think that’s going to happen,” Torre said Thursday, in a telephone interview
“I talked to Andy,” Torre said. “His agent had called the Dodgers to find out about interest, and that’s when I called him. I had talked to Andy much earlier, asking him to come to my (Safe at Home) Foundation dinner. He was always married to the Yankees, the excitement playing for the Yankees.
“I called him only because his agent called (Dodgers’ GM) Ned (Colletti). I certainly would’ve kicked myself (if I hadn’t called). He never said no to anything, but just from talking to him, I know the Yankees are his first choice. I wasn’t about to talk him out it, knowing Andy like I do.”
“We’re trying to figure out what we’re doing,” Torre said. “A lot of people are certainly on our radar screen. With everything going on in the world financially, the manager’s probably the last guy to ask, because he wants to ignore all of that stuff.”
