WWE Monday Night Raw SuperShow Oct. 17: Full Spoilers
The WWE Monday Night Raw SuperShow won't be live this Monday night, as WWE is on their tour of Mexico, and tonight the tapings for Monday's show took place. We have spoilers for the show in its entirety.
This episode is the go-home show for Vengeance 2011, and follows an episode of Raw that has been ridiculed for cutting the WWE Walkout angle short and rushing the replacement of Triple H with John Laurinaitis.
One excuse that's come out for WWE's rush to return to "business as usual" is that they needed to quickly position themselves for the upcoming Vengeance pay-per-view, but did tonight's taping prove that to be the case?
Check out the following slides to find out!
ANOTHER 6-man Tag Team Match
1 of 5Cody Rhodes, Mark Henry and Christian def. Sheamus, Randy Orton and John Morrison via Pinfall:
Reportedly, Mark Henry hit the WSS on John Morrison for the win. After the match, the heels continued to scrap with the faces.
Rhodes escaped up the ramp and backstage, with Orton in pursuit. Christian escaped through the crowd, with Sheamus chasing after him as well.
Afterwards, Orton vs. Rhodes was announced for Vengeance.
Let me also add that six-man tag team matches have been entirely overdone. I like that they make them relevant and even hit multiple feuds in them, but it's been done far too often and is really feeling like a cheap way to squeeze relevancy out of match ups.
Eve Torres Earns a Title Shot Against Beth Phoenix
2 of 5Eve Torres (w/Kelly Kelly) def. Natalya (w/Beth Phoenix):
After the match, it was announced that Eve would face Beth for the Divas Championship at Vengeance.
I wish I could be excited about the Divas, even with Beth holding the title.
The Triple H/CM Punk Hype Train Rolls on Going into Vengeance
3 of 5CM Punk (w/Triple H) def. The Miz (w/R-Truth):
Mid-match, John Laurinaitis came out and ejected Triple H from ringside. Punk went on to win the match, but was beat down by Miz and R-Truth.
Afterwards, Vickie Guerrero came to the ring with Dolph Ziggler and Jack Swagger to announce that they were getting a title shot against Air Boom at Vengeance.
Is Zack Ryder on the Road to a Title Shot?
4 of 5Zack Ryder def. Jack Swagger:
Woo woo woo, you know it!
After the match, Swagger and Ziggler beat down Ryder, which led to Mason Ryan running in to make the save. This led to...
Dolph Ziggler def. Mason Ryan:
Ryan ignored the ref's count as he attacked Ziggler who was tied up in the ropes, getting himself disqualified.
It wouldn't surprise me at all if Swagger and Ziggler took the Tag Team Championship from Air Boom, and Ziggler dropped the United States Championship to Ryder at some point in the near future.
Jim Ross Is Back...in an Asinine Tag Team Match!
5 of 5At the beginning of the show, John Laurinaitis brought back Jim Ross, and gave him a match. He'd be teaming with John Cena against Alberto Del Rio and Michael Cole. Yeah, that'll convince fans to buy Vengeance!
The winner of the match would get to choose the stipulation for Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena at Vengeance.
John Cena & Jim Ross def. Alberto Del Rio & Michael Cole:
Thankfully, this didn't appear to be a case of WWE wanting to embarrass JR further. The finish came when JR forced Cole to tap with a submission hold.
Cena decided to make the match between him and Del Rio at Vengeance a Last Man Standing match.
