St. Louis Rams: Will Rams Trade for Denver Broncos' WR Brandon Lloyd?
The NFL trade deadline is Tuesday, and there are multiple reports (here, here and here) that the Denver Broncos are shopping Pro Bowl wide receiver Brandon Lloyd.
The St. Louis Rams, in desperate need of a downfield receiving threat, are one of the teams rumored to be interested in Lloyd.
The Broncos would like to move Lloyd, who is in the last year of his deal, because they probably will not throw as many deep passes with Tim Tebow taking over as the team's quarterback. The Broncos could probably get a mid-round draft pick in return for Lloyd.

So, would the Rams pony up for Lloyd?
It would make sense, considering their most consistent receiver, Danny Amendola, is out for the season. In his absence, the remainder of the Rams' receiving corps has been abysmal, leading the NFL in drops (12) and stunting the growth of promising second-year quarterback Sam Bradford.
Lloyd would seem like the perfect fit for the Rams.
He played his best football under former Broncos' head coach and current Rams' offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. He knows the Ram's offense. He is a great downfield receiver, having averaged 18.8 yards per catch in McDaniels' offense.
The Rams could also activate Mark Clayton off of the PUP list next week. Clayton was Sam Bradford's favorite target last season before suffering a season-ending knee injury. If the Rams could get Lloyd and Clayton at the same time, and Steven Jackson back on the field (Jackson says he is 100%), the Rams might be a dangerous offensive team.
I hope the Rams make the deal for Lloyd. Send Denver a fourth-round pick. Look at it this way: we used our last two fourth-round picks on receivers that haven't worked out, Mardy Gilyard (2010) and Greg Salas (2011). Why not use a fourth-round pick on a proven receiver that knows this offense?
That makes perfect sense to me. I hope the Rams pull the trigger.
