NFL Picks Week 6: Quick Picks for Every Game on Schedule
Quick picks for every game on the NFL's Week 6 schedule:
San Francisco 49ers (4-1) at Detroit Lions (5-0)
Two of the most surprising teams in the NFL make up the game of Week 6. You have to like what the 49ers defense has done this season, but the Lions are going to be tough to beat at home.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Lions 27, 49ers 20
St. Louis Rams (0-4) at Green Bay Packers (5-0)
The Rams should have nothing to lose on Sunday, but the Packers have the look of a team that's destined to go 13-3 or better. The Rams' injury-riddled defense won't be able to withstand the Packers' offensive onslaught.
Packers 38, Rams 17
Carolina Panthers (1-4) at Atlanta Falcons (2-3)
This should be one of the more fascinating games of the weekend, as Cam Newton attempts to pull off his first real upset of his NFL career. The Falcons absolutely need to have a win to keep pace in the NFC South.
In the end, Newton makes more plays than Matt Ryan as the Falcons continue to free fall.
Panthers 28, Falcons 24
Indianapolis Colts (0-5) at Cincinnati Bengals (3-2)
It's hard not to be impressed with the play of Andy Dalton early in his career, and he'll get a golden chance to get his Bengals to two games above .500 at 4-2.
The winless Colts just need something good to happen in 2011, and a win would do the trick. Unfortunately for Colts fans, it's not going to happen in Cincinnati Sunday.
Bengals 23, Colts 13
Buffalo Bills (4-1) at New York Giants (3-2)
Love the way this game shapes up for the Bills. While they've gotten very little pass rush through five games, Buffalo has intercepted an NFL-high 12 passes.
Facing Eli Manning, the turnover machine, they should be able to cash in on a few more, leading to a win on the road.
Bills 20, Giants 10
Jacksonville Jaguars (1-4) at Pittsburgh Steelers (3-2)
Blaine Gabbert, buckle your safety belt—this ride is about to get bumpy. The NFL's worst passing offense won't find much luck in Pittsburgh, as the Steelers' wounded-but-dangerous defense should limit the rookie quarterback and minimize the damage Maurice Jones-Drew can do.
Steelers 27, Jaguars 7
Philadelphia Eagles (1-4) at Washington Redskins (3-1)
Remember when Michael Vick went off on the Redskins in a Monday night game last season?
That game is a distant memory for both, as Vick and the Eagles have struggled to protect the ball in 2011, and the Redskins defense has improved by leaps and bounds. In another must-win game for the Eagles, the continued mistakes are too much to overcome on the road.
Redskins 21, Eagles 20
Houston Texans (3-2) at Baltimore Ravens (3-1)
The Texans have lost their two best players—Andre Johnson and Mario Williams—in back-to-back weeks, and the Ravens have had two weeks to ready themselves for this key AFC matchup. It should still be close, but the Ravens will be too much at home for a recovering Texans team.
Ravens 28, Texans 21
Cleveland Browns (2-2) at Oakland Raiders (3-2)
Is there going to be any kind of emotional hangover or remainder for the Raiders, who are still just a week or so removed from the passing of their owner?
In the first home game for Oakland following Al Davis' death, you can think that the emotions will still run high. Raiders squeak out another close win.
Raiders 23, Browns 17
Dallas Cowboys (2-2) at New England Patriots (4-1)
A lot of eyes are going to be on this game, which features two of the more visible teams in the NFL.
The difference is at the quarterback position, where Tom Brady should be able to pick apart the Dallas secondary. On the flip side, can you really trust Tony Romo to go on the road and win a game in Foxboro?
Patriots 35, Cowboys 24
New Orleans Saints (4-1) at Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-2)
The Saints have won four straight games, which puts them a game up on the Bucs in the NFC South.
Tampa Bay returns home with their tail between their legs after a 45-point loss in San Francisco. Losses like that can derail a season in a hurry, and Drew Brees and the Saints will add to the Bucs' misery on Sunday.
Saints 34, Buccaneers 21
Minnesota Vikings (1-4) at Chicago Bears (2-3)
The key in this game will be the Bears offensive line, which has Jay Cutler running for his life again this season.
The Vikings have the kind of horses on the defensive line to give that unit another hard time on Sunday night. To make matters worse, the Bears have struggled to stop the run all season.
Adrian Peterson and the Vikings build off their first win of the season with another this weekend.
Vikings 24, Bears 13
Miami Dolphins (0-4) at New York Jets (2-3)
You get the feeling that the Jets are ripe for the picking right now, but Matt Moore has a tough test in his first start of the season against New York's defense. That's not a matchup that favors the Dolphins in any way, especially with their inability to run the football.
Might be closer than most imagine, but the Jets will pull it off.
Jets 26, Dolphins 17
