WWE Vegeance 2011: My Best Possible Outcomes for Each Match
WWE Vengeance 2011 is only a short while away, and although only three matches are currently listed on WWE.com, they are the biggest ones of the night.
Here are my thoughts on what I would like to see happen at Vengeance. Feel free to comment as always.
Mark Henry vs. Big Show for the World Title

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Show demolished Henry last week on SmackDown. I wasn't really impressed with this, as they have done such a great job of building Mark into an incredible monster heel.
Mark shouldn't lose too much heat from this, as whenever a superstar makes a return from injury, they tend to best the guy that put them out of action upon that return. The best outcome of this match, in my opinion, if it is going to be a one-off match, is for Mark Henry to retain cleanly.
He needs to be continuously built up as unbeatable, so when a younger star comes in to the title picture (Sheamus), the defeat of Mark will be a huge deal and elevate that star to a huge level.
Show does not need a title to be credible, although at some point before he retires I would like to see him have one last run with the belt—but now is not that time. Show also needs to become an unstoppable monster heel again to help elevate younger guys as well.
If now is the time to make new stars in the WWE, Henry will retain.
Alberto Del Rio vs. John Cena for the WWE Title
I know, I know—Cena in another title match. And this isn't Cena-hating, but Del Rio has to win this match. This is a re-hashing of stuff that has been said many times before, but it needs to be heard by WWE.
First, Cena needs to look vulnerable so it creates some interest in the match.
Whenever Cena is in a title match, it is assumed he will win no matter what. This needs to stop in order for people to want to watch him in a PPV match.
Second, there are no credible heels on RAW. Del Rio is as close as it gets. He needs to beat Cena clean to gain respect from Cena and the crowd. Cena tapping is almost non existent, which sucks for Del Rio, but I would like a clean pin with no Ricardo Rodriguez interference.
Third, the WWE title has become a prop with the way it gets passed around. To bring some prestige back to the belt, let it hang around the waist of someone else for awhile before Cena goes back to throwing it on the floor of the ring as he plays to the crowd.
Del Rio making Cena tap would be amazing, but I will settle for a pin.
Triple H and CM Punk vs. Miz and R-Truth
This is the match I am looking forward to most of all. I would love to see either of these two outcomes:
1. Hunter turns on Punk at the end of the match and sides with Awesome Truth. It would show that Punk is indeed smarter than your average wrestler, as he believed it was Hunter behind what has been happening in WWE all along.
The new Outsiders would be born as everybody is wishing for, and WWE would have it's new, huge anti-hero star in CM Punk. Laurinaitis and the conspiracy-minded wrestlers around him could join them and say that was the plan all along.
2. This is the one I would prefer. Punk turns on Hunter at the end of the match and sides with all the "wronged wrestlers." Punk is a natural leader, as proven with the Straight Edge Society and New Nexus, and I, for one, prefer him as a heel. He has too much charisma to be portrayed as a lame babyface/tweener.
Whatever happens in this match, I see someone on the face team turning at Vengeance. Whoever it is needs to join Awesome Truth in another beat-down along the lines of the Hell in a Cell one in order for Miz and Truth to get their edginess back.
Let me know what you think should happen in each match. Agree or disagree, all comments are welcome.
Great slideshow, Kevin. Not much needed from me on this one. I just cleaned up the type a bit and broke up some of your longer paragraphs for better readability on the Web. Overall, it looks great. Nice work!—
