NFL Rumors: Eagles' Andy Reid Must Bring in Defensive Consultant to Save Season
Andy Reid and the Philadelphia Eagles have apparently reached out to Eric Mangini to come in and become the team's defensive consultant, but Reid denies the report.
Of course he does. Who would admit to being rejected by an ESPN analyst?
It doesn't really matter who rejected what in reality. All that matters is that the Philadelphia Eagles need all the help they can get on the defensive side of the ball.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Reid made the biggest blunder of his career when he promoted Juan Castillo from offensive line coach to defensive coordinator.
Did he really think that would work?
The Eagles defense has been abysmal this year, and they have a ton of talent on the defensive line and in the secondary.
They are giving up 140 rushing yards per game and giving up 211 yards through the air. The worst part about the Eagles defense is that they have no clue how to utilize their personnel. There is no reason that they have only allowed Nnamdi Asomugha to play press coverage on 40 percent of plays this year. He is not a zone CB and has given up big plays when in zone coverage. He is one of the least versatile CBs in the NFL, but he is still one of the most talented.
Any defensive coordinator or consultant would fix that problem and immediately let Asomugha play press coverage more.
Castillo has done a poor job thus far, and while his job isn't in jeopardy yet, it may be soon.
