Derek Jeter: Yankees' Captain Finding Comfort with Ex-Girlfriend Minka Kelly
When Derek Jeter and Minka Kelly announced the end of their relationship in August, gossip columnists everywhere shed a tear because it was assumed that the New York Yankees shortstop had finally found the woman to settle down with.
Well, as luck would have it, those tears may have been premature. According to a report in the New York Post, Jeter flew to Miami on Sunday to be with Kelly. A source told the newspaper that they were meeting "to try and figure it out" and "see what the future holds."
Still skeptical of a possible reunion, are you?

The same source said that "they may eventually get back together. This was not some sort of final conversation and meeting between them.”
Jeter's off-field transgressions have been as big a part of his career in New York as anything that he has done on the field. His hit list off the field is just as impressive, if not more so, than his 3,000-plus hits as a Major League Baseball player.
This season was not a great one for Jeter. He lost his girlfriend of three years and his performance on the field continued to suffer.
Fans will point out that he did finish with a .297 batting average, but if you dig a little deeper you will see that it was a hollow average. He can't hit right-handed pitching, finishing with a .277/.329/.338 (BA/OBP/SLG) in 397 at-bats.
The end is nigh for the superstar shortstop and he could be looking to settle down once he walks away from baseball.
Clearly of all the women that he has dated in his life, Kelly appears to have made a lasting impression on him and his life. If he is flying down to Miami to see her, odds are good that he is hoping for a reunion soon.
