Tim Tebow: Fantasy's Superman or Superman's Fantasy?
Tim Tebow has often been compared to Superman.
But will he perform like Superman in fantasy football for the remainder of the season?
Probably, if you go by what he’s done thus far.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Last year as a rookie, Tebow started the final three games of the season for the Broncos, throwing for 651 yards and four touchdowns, while rushing for an additional 199 yards and three touchdowns. In ESPN standard leagues, that equated to 22, 26 and 29 points in Weeks 15, 16 and 17, respectively. Those numbers on a week-to-week basis would qualify Tebow as a top-tier fantasy quarterback.
In Sunday’s game against the Chargers, during the second half alone, Tebow threw for 79 yards and one touchdown, while rushing for 38 yards and another score. That was enough to give Tebow 16 fantasy points in ESPN Standard leagues. If Tebow could pad those stats over an entire game, he could easily be a top-10 fantasy quarterback in his next start.
Now I know all the Tebow-haters are shaking their heads right now. But just because Tebow is not an elite passer does not mean that he isn’t worth a look in fantasy football. Just think, most people would consider Matt Ryan as one of the best up-and-coming quarterbacks in the league right now (100 percent owned), yet he is averaging only 12.4 points per week in ESPN standard leagues.
If that’s the case, I’ll take Tebow’s 16 fantasy points from the second half alone over Ryan’s 12.4 average any day of the week.
Bottom line: Tebow should be owned in all fantasy leagues. His rushing abilities as well as his leadership in the huddle generate excitement all over the football field, which confuses defenses, and usually translates into a handful of fantasy points. If he can develop any sort of consistency, he has the potential to eventually start in 12-team leagues (that is, assuming John Fox officially names Tebow the starter).
I would even argue that if Tebow does not deliver, who better to waste bench space on? I seriously doubt there is a player in the NFL who is more fun to cheer for than Tim Tebow. Just ask any Denver Broncos fan, and they will tell you that the chants of “Tee-bow!” after Sunday’s game against the Chargers—despite taking the loss—could be heard from miles away and were enough to send chills down anyone’s spine.
Which brings me back to the original question of the article: Is Tim Tebow Fantasy’s Superman or Superman’s Fantasy?
Maybe both.
While I doubt that Superman stays up at night dreaming about Tim Tebow (although I could be wrong), you can bet one thing is for sure. If Superman has a fantasy football team, Tim Tebow is on it.
