Fresh Backstage WWE Rumors 👊

Modern-Day Dream Matches 💭

Most Likely Backlash Heel/Face Turns 🎭
Jeff Hardy:
Everyone's favourite (me included) "charismatic enigma" has had a mixed year in 2008. He started the year in an excellent feud with Randy Orton that showed that Hardy would do anything and everything to win the WWE championship.
The video of Jeff performing a swanton bomb from the top of the support beam will be played in highlight reels everywhere for years to come. Unfortunately for Hardy he was beaten at the Royal Rumble title match, and this would be one of many for this year.
He was involved in the first elimination chamber match of his career which he narrowly lost. He was then placed in the Money In The Bank ladder match at Wrestlemania, but was suspended for 60 days due to violating the WWE's wellness policy. Hardy has been in the title picture for most of the year, but as yet is still unable to score 'the big one'.
Triple H:
Beaten at the Royal Rumble. Beaten at Wrestlemania. Won the WWE championship and retained for several months. Went to Smackdown! in the draft earlier in the year, where he has only had feuds with Jeff Hardy or monster heels (Khali, Kozlov). Same ol' same ol'.
Batista:
The animal has had a pretty good year which has included feuds with Y2J, HBK, Cena, JBL, and now Orton. He wrestled in an elimination chamber match, the Royal Rumble and had some support from Stone Cold to win a championship.
John Cena:
He made a shock return from injury 6 months early to win the Royal Rumble. He was involved in feuds with Orton, Triple H, JBL and Batista before getting injured again. Now he's made another return and won the main event, this time winning the World Heavyweight Championship. I really, REALLY hope that the WWE don't award the Slammy to Cena, but I wouldn't be surprised if they do.
Edge:
I'm sure that Edge will also be nominated for feud of the year between himself and The Undertaker. His relationship with Smackdown!'s GM Vickie Guerrero has been attributed to the large amount of heat he receives from the crowd each week. La Familia was also a big success until Edge was sent to hell care of 'Taker and it seemed to disband.
"Y2J" Chris Jericho:
The "ayatolla of rock-and-rolla" was involved in the following matches this year:
- Raw elimination chamber match
- Money In The Bank ladder match
- Raw championship scramble
- Unsanctioned match with HBK
- Ladder match with HBK
- Two cage matches in recent months, winning both.
In my opinion Chris Jericho should win the Slammy for both Superstar of the Year and Feud of the Year. Keep in mind that Y2J only returned late last year, and had a heel turn that has lead to so much success.
