Green Bay Packers: Winners and Losers from Pack's Win vs. Falcons

Mikhail TurnerOct 9, 2011

The Packers love a good dome visit every now and then. Especially in Atlanta.

The last time two times the Packers have come to Georgia, last years postseason and last night, the team has put up points and nullified a solid Atlanta team in the process.

In a game that started out scarily for cheeseheads around the world, the Packers dominated the last quarter and a little.

In (almost) every game there are winners and losers, and it is no different this time around.

Check out the winners and losers of this Packers' win against Falcons.

Winner- Aaron Rodgers

1 of 5

Another high-octane performance from arguably the best quarterback in the league right now. Aaron Rodgers may have been sacked four times, and driven for only three field goals until midway through the third quarter, but he was still on fire throughout.

Rodgers continues to pick up big number as he threw for 396 yards, two touchdowns and zero interceptions. He didn't have his usual accuracy but got the job done with aplomb.

Winner-Mason Crosby

2 of 5

Mason Crosby hit three clutch field goals that kept his team in the game, none better than his 56-yard bomb which pulled the Packers within five and help signaled the comeback.

He hit a fourth to really put the game away.

Winner-Green Bay Packers Recievers

3 of 5

All 12 of them to be exact. That includes three running backs and one fullback. The minimum requirement for getting the pigskin tossed in their direction? Five yards.

Loser-Atlanta Offense

4 of 5

After scoring 14 points in its first two drives, the Falcons' offense went missing in action. One series in particular made it obvious.

Facing an eight-point deficit with under 10 minutes left in the game, the Falcons' offensive series started strongly but faded thanks to a missed block leading to a sack—and a huge loss of yards—and in the resulting play Matt Ryan threw  an interception that almost effectively ended the game.

Loser-Atlanta Defense

5 of 5

The Falcons' defense held the vaunted receiving corps of the Packers, and the solid rushing team, scoreless until there were four minutes remaining in third quarter. Then they went to sit on the benches with there offensive counterparts.

In the whole game the defense allowed 25 unanswered points, and got torched in the air for 396 yards. Not to mention they let 12 different players catch the ball.
