UFC 136 Results: Chael Sonnen vs Anderson Silva II Needs to Be on FOX
Earlier this year, the UFC made one of the biggest announcements in the history of the organization.
They signed a network TV deal with Fox television, which goes into effect on January 1, 2012.
The first event will take place on November 12, and it will be a heavyweight title fight between Cain Velasquez and Junior dos Santos.
Dana is clearly willing to put title fights on Fox, as he thinks that the money they will lose in PPV for the fight will make up for itself by all the new fans they will bring in.
Chael Sonnen vs. Anderson Silva II is likely to be the biggest fight in UFC history and would surely bring in millions of people to watch these two slug it out on national television.
This could be the biggest PPV in UFC history. Or Dana White could take one for the cause, and put it on free television.
If they want to appeal to a wide demographic of fans, and bring in millions of viewers and new fans, there's only one thing that Dana White should do.
He should put this fight on Fox.
They got this TV deal to get them more publicity, what better way to get publicity than to put the best fighter in the world, Anderson Silva, against the one man who pushed him to the brink of defeat, Chael Sonnen.
Not only would the fight be just as good as the first one, but as with the first fight, Chael's mouth would be able to sell this fight at an unheard of level.
Could anyone imagine a commercial of Chael trash talking Silva on Fox?
Could you imagine how many people would tune in that night to see if he could back it up?
Make it happen Dana. Put this fight on Fox.
