Tigers vs. Rangers: ALCS TV Schedule, Live Streaming and Game Time

Michael DixonOct 7, 2011

When Jose Valverde struck Alex Rodriguez out on Thursday, it set up a Detroit Tigers vs. Texas Rangers American League Championship Series.

The Rangers are returning to the ALCS for the second straight year. A year ago, they beat the Yankees four games to two.

The Tigers haven't reached an ALCS since 2006, when they swept the Oakland A's.

The most important games will be Verlander's starts. The Rangers best chance in this series is finding a way to at least split those games.

If the Tigers win Verlander's starts, they are set up very well to win two of the remaining five games.

The Rangers bats will also need to be efficient. Their overall numbers won't be as good as they were during the regular season, but they can't miss opportunities, especially against Verlander.

The Tigers' need the players around Miguel Cabrera to support him. If he's hitting well, Texas will pitch around him.

But if there is nowhere to put him and/or a hot hitter behind him, Cabrera will do damage.

Prediction:

It's hard to go against the team with Justin Verlander and the nasty bullpen at the end. This can be a really close series, but I am going with the Tigers in 6.
