WWE News: Colt Cabana's WWE Future Seems Bleak, "They Won't Return My Calls"

According to prowrestling.net; CM Punk's request to hire his pal Colt Cabana may never come to fruition.

The article states that Cabana was interviewed by pitch.com., where he stated that no one has reached out to him since his dark match.

They won’t return my calls or anything. It’s pretty weird, man. I don’t get it. Nobody was really receptive. It’s just like they wanted to ignore it. I think it’s because Punk is such a rebel that ... they were able re-sign Punk, but I think to kind of stick it to him, they don’t want to talk to his friend.

Cabana later commented on whether he got that vibe during the tryout, stating:

Nah, It didn’t seem like. All of the wrestlers and all of the personalities and all of the personnel, they love me. They get it. I think there’s just a group of people who don’t get me or don’t want to get me. Unfortunately, that keeps me away from an opportunity, but at the same time, I think the answer was so obvious to put me on TV and capitalize on it.

I both agree and disagree with Cabana. He is correct the time to capitalize on hiring him and making him a star has passed. CM Punk himself has lost some of the momentum he had over the summer.

However, I don't think the WWE is avoiding him because he is a friend of Punk. The WWE has been historically fickle in regards to who they hire and fire. Even if the wrestler has enough juice to be a solid mid-carder, the WWE may not feel the same.

Another thing to consider is, if there is no room on for a wrestler on TV, why bother signing him or her, if you won't use them properly?

Sadly, the WWE is the NFL of pro wrestling, and anything less for most wrestlers is not acceptable.

And I get that, but sometimes you have to weigh your options and maybe give the competition a shot.
