Fantasy Football Week 5 Rankings: Jared Cook and the 3 Boom-or-Bust TEs
Tight ends are often overlooked in fantasy football.
They can be the difference between a win and a loss. What's more, they drive me crazy each week.
Sometimes, certain guys are regularly targeted over the middle, in the red zone and score a ton of points.

1 Word for Every Team's 2026 Draft ☝️
The next week, they rarely see a pass and their red-zone targets go instead to the running backs.
Anyway, here are the biggest boom-or-bust tight end plays for Week 5.
Jared Cook
Last week, Cook had two catches for 93 yards, one of which was an 80-yard touchdown.
He hasn't had more than two catches in any games this season.
It's hard to figure out how Cook will be used in Tennessee's surprisingly potent offense.
He has a chance to make a few big plays with his wide receiver-like speed, but how often will he be targeted and how many catches can he reel in?
Either way, the Steelers have allowed some big games to opposing tight ends (Ed Dickson and Owen Daniels), so the possibility is certainly there.
Scott Chandler
The Bills' sure-handed tight end has four touchdowns on the season and is unquestionably a favorite target of Ryan Fitzpatrick in the red zone.
However, the number of plays for which he's been on the field has decreased each week. It's hard to tell how much Buffalo will use him between the 20s.
There's a chance the 6'6'' tight end will get looks in the red zone, but what if he doesn't catch a touchdown?
He only has 11 receptions on the year.
Dallas Clark
Usually, Clark is one of the most reliable tight ends in the game.
Unfortunately, with Curtis Painter behind center, he enters the boom-or-bust realm.
Painter could settle in against the Chiefs this week, in what would be his second start. However, it's interesting to note that Clark has been blocking a lot more than in the past, recently.
