Week 5 Waiver Wire: Matt Hasselbeck and 3 Solid Desperation Pickups
Between the uncertainty of injuries and of course bye weeks, it's understandable for fantasy owners to be scrambling a little bit right now.
Now, unless you're in a really deep league or in a format that uses multiple quarterbacks, you should probably have a pretty good backup quarterback. It's such a big fantasy position that you should reach a little bit to get a good second option.
Still, that doesn't always happen. So, if you weren't fortunate enough to get a good backup and find yourself needing a quarterback, take a look at one of these three guys. They are all available in over half of ESPN leagues, so at least one is probably available to you.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Hasselbeck seems to be enjoying a revival season in Tennessee. Even without Kenny Britt, he managed a 220-yard, three-touchdown performance against Cleveland.
Now, Pittsburgh would appear to be a bad match, but they are vulnerable. Without James Harrison, they will have to make adjustments to get pressure on the quarterback.
Hasselbeck is a veteran quarterback, which means he's probably going to see where the Steelers are vulnerable.
He wouldn't be ideal, none of these guys are. But Hasselbeck is a solid option for at least a decent day of points.
With the exception of Tarvaris Jackson, opposing quarterbacks have torched the Cardinals' defense this year.
Actually, even Jackson had a decent day.
Donovan McNabb's best days are behind him, but the Cardinals just don't have a pass defense to do much against him.
I look for a very solid day from McNabb, and actually expect the Vikings to pick up their first win.
Andy Dalton
The first two guys were names that you've known for the last decade or more. So, let's even it out a bit here and go with a rookie.
Jacksonville's defense has not done an especially good job this year of containing the pass. Strangely, I actually think they will win this game, but that will work in Dalton's favor.
In his young career, Dalton already has one 300-yard day, and one 298-yard day. Jacksonville isn't likely to do much to limit that.
