NFL Predictions Week 5: Buffalo Bills and 3 Teams Bound for a Wake-Up Call
Football fans are so fickle.
One second you love a team, another you hate said team.
In the electric world of the NFL, pivotal plays can instantly draw awe or groaning. Something that excites us can overshadow what lies beneath. And one bad or good game can shape entire perceptions about a team.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Here are three teams right now that are bound to take a hit in confidence in Week 5.
Indianapolis Colts (0-4)
Yeah, I know this team has already had four wake-up calls, but losing to the 1-3 Kansas City Chiefs is a wake-up call no matter how you're playing coming into the matchup.
That's what I see happening come Sunday, where the Chiefs will use their victory over the Minnesota Vikings as a boost into Week 5. The Chiefs still have the talent to be a decent team; sure, they lost star running back Jamaal Charles, but this team's record appears to have more to do with not being prepared than anything else.
But the Chiefs have rebounded after an ugly start, giving up just 20 points to the San Diego Chargers while defeating the Vikings, 22-17. The Colts will either go with Kerry Collins or Curtis Painter in Week 5. Neither will be able to save this team...even in Indianapolis.
San Francisco 49ers (3-1)
As a Bay Area guy, I've followed the 49ers closely for years. Needless to say, I was stunned that they defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4, coming back from a 20-3 halftime deficit to pull out a squeaker in Philadelphia.
This team's defense is for real, with improved linebacker play and a secondary that has been better than last year, but I still don't believe in Alex Smith under center. I've watched him bumble and fumble for too many years to expect him to miraculously become a franchise quarterback.
The 49ers play the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 5, a team with an emerging defensive line that should be able to get through a 49ers offensive line that has certainly had its problems this season.
This should be a close affair, but I think the gap between Smith and Bucs QB Josh Freeman will be the difference.
The good news is the 49ers can probably lose a lot this season and still win the NFC West.
Buffalo Bills (3-1)
I'll say this: I do believe in this offense, led by quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick. But it's the defense that bothers me. The Bills are ranked 25th in opponents' passing yards per game and opponents' rushing yards per game.
Against the Philadelphia Eagles, a team I believe will rebound after Week 4, I expect the Bills to get a wake-up call at home as the Eagles pass and run all over them.
The Bills are much improved, but they've been given too much credit as a team four weeks into the season.
