WWE News: Vince McMahon Must Make CM Punk Focal Point of WWE
While it appears CM Punk is getting buried by the WWE, the background could give Punk fans a reason to be happy again.
After captivating the hearts of the WWE universe with his epic shoot promo about his contract and the subsequent Money in the Bank PPV that blew our minds, CM Punk has had a great run—but no real direction.
News breaking today is that the direction he will be heading in the near future will be higher than he has ever been, and close to the level of John Cena exposure.

Wrestle Zone is reporting about the possible direction of WWE’s push for CM Punk and just how big it could be:
"WZ had an exclusive about CM Punk becoming the new number one in merchandise sales. It seems that this surprised the WWE but also impressed them. The company wants to find ways to capitalize on the CM Punk popularity. Talk of WWE Studios looking for projects for him also a possibility of a CM Punk book because the WWE has decreased the amount of books they have put out recently. More CM Punk merchandise is expected along with a big part of WWE's plan in 2012. CM Punk will be heavily featured in pay-per-views and all WWE programming. The report claims that WWE will be going "full blown" when it comes to CM Punk. The plan still remains for Punk to headline several PPV's with WWE Champion Alberto Del Rio. If and when John Cena gets involved is not yet known but WWE wants build sympathy for CM Punk when he loses as they grow to something much bigger.
"
Something much bigger, huh?
The talk about a super match between CM Punk and Stone Cold Steve Austin seemed as far-fetched as anything brought up in the last six months, but the WWE’s newfound dedication to CM Punk and Austin’s willingness to appear in this match make it easily feasible.
Thinking about it now, it would be the perfect co-headlining bout for the WrestleMania 28 card because of the relationship between Cena and Punk and Austin and The Rock. All four of these men will be out there to steal the show, and the result could be the greatest 1-2 set of matches in WWE history.
The sky is the limit now that Punk has the support of WWE management, and all of these dream matches that the fans have desired for years may start coming to fruition now that we’re approaching the stretch run for storylines leading into WrestleMania.
