NFL Picks Week 5: 3 Games Sure to End in a Shootout
There is nothing better than a good ol'-fashion shootout, and Week 5 should deliver quite a few of them. For some teams, "defense" is the word of the day, for other teams (I’m looking at you, New Orleans) “defense” is a four-letter word.
So, let’s take a look at which games are going to be an offensive showcase.
Saints vs. Panthers

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The one thing these teams do better than score points is give them up. Don’t believe me? The Saints rank 21st in total points allowed while the Panthers rank 26th in points allowed (though the difference between the two is a forgettable four points).
Look for Drew Brees and Cam Newton to both put on offensive showings. If you have either of the QBs on your fantasy team, you can set them to start right now. They’ll get you points.
Eagles vs. Bills
What do you get when you take two of the top-10 scoring teams in the league and put them on the same field? You get a shootout that should be fun from start to finish. The QBs, Ryan Fitzpatrick and Michael Vick, couldn’t be more different in styles, but both of them have been no stranger to lighting up the scoreboard.
While this seemed like an easy Week 5 win during the preseason when Vince Young was labeling them the "dream team," this game could put the Eagles in serious trouble. Look for both teams to air it out and for the scoreboard to be working overtime.
Cardinals vs. Vikings
Both the Cardinals and the Vikings are giving up more than 280 yards a game in the air. Both teams feature skilled offensive players and defenses that are in transition. Translation? If Donovan McNabb can find a way to return to the Pro Bowl-caliber player he’s been, there is a good chance this game could turn into a high-scoring affair.
Sure, McNabb is a bit of a wild card, but he knows he’ll have to be better for his own financial future. Another lousy performance will open the door for Christian Ponder, so look for McNabb to have a solid game.
If you are in the market for games loaded with offense and lacking on defense, set your DVRs for these matchups.
