Ben Roethlisberger Injury: Why Steelers QB Will Never Be Healthy Behind Bad OL
According to Pro Football Talk, Ben Roethlisberger needed an x-ray and left the stadium in a walking boot. Roethlisberger stated that he injured his foot near the end of the game. The Steelers are having all sorts of problems, after falling to 2-2.
Today's loss vs. the Houston Texans, exposed several problem areas. However, the biggest problem might be the struggles along the offensive line. This unit is missing Willie Colon, Jonathan Scott and Doug Legursky.
The injuries are only part of the problem, as the unit was an issue last season. However, the only new addition was 2nd round pick Marcus Gilbert. Gilbert has promise but is being forced into the lineup due to injuries.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
While the offensive line has not played well, they are not fully responsible for the quarterback pressures. They are asked to protect a quarterback that constantly holds the football to long.
Ben Roethlisberger is an excellent quarterback, with much of his success coming off his ability to extend the play. However, all that extra time in the pocket leads to a ton of hits. The combination of Roethlisberger and a struggling offensive line is a recipe for disaster.
Another concern is the Steelers lack of a running game. Due to the struggles in the running game, the Steelers are forced to call more passing plays.
It appears that an adjustment needs to be made, if the Steelers want to see Roethlisberger survive the season.
The offensive line is not going to become more talented. The adjustment needs to be made by Roethlisberger and the offensive coordinator. At this point in his career, Roethlisberger should be capable of adjusting to the players around him.
The offensive game-plan needs to put more of a focus on running the football. They can protect Roethlisberger by establishing a strong running attack.
