WWE Hell in a Cell 2011 Predictions: Alberto Del Rio and 3 Stars Who Need to Win

Adam WellsOct 2, 2011

Alberto Del Rio should not be wrestling for the WWE championship at the annual Hell in a Cell pay-per-view. he should be defending the championship against John Cena and CM Punk at this show.

I wasn't a fan of the way Del Rio won the title at SummerSlam, but at least someone new was given a chance to be champion instead of the same boring, dull, lifeless characters that have been wearing the title for the last five years.

But then, at Night of Champions, in typical WWE fashion, Del Rio was beaten clean by John Cena for no apparent reason other than to pop a rating the next night on Raw.

Now, just two weeks after that defeat, Del Rio is in desperate need of a win, and he will have his chance in a triple threat hell in a cell match against Cena and CM Punk.

But Del Rio is not alone in terms of WWE wrestlers who are in desperate need of a victory on Sunday night's show.

Here are four superstars, Del Rio included, who need to leave Hell in a Cell with their hand raised in victory.

Alberto Del Rio

Match: Triple Threat Hell in a Cell for WWE Championship vs. John Cena (c) and CM Punk

The former WWE champion, Alberto Del Rio should not be in a must-win scenario at Hell in a Cell. He should not have lost the championship two weeks ago, but that is a whole different story.

Now, instead of focusing on what should have been, we can focus on what should be. Del Rio needs something, anything to get over as a serious main event heel. A victory over John Cena and CM Punk in this match won’t get him there, but it is a step in the right direction.

Cena does not need the title right now, especially with Rock coming back next month for Survivor Series. CM Punk does not need the title right now since he is still in a program with Triple H and the WWE hierarchy.

Del Rio needs the title if the company wants him to become the star that they (supposedly) believe he can be.

Good Sin Cara

Match: "Good" Sin Cara vs. "Evil" Sin Cara

To say that Sin Cara's WWE tenure has been poor would be putting things mildly.

Sin Cara was brought in to be the heir apparent to Rey Mysterio, but his in-ring work has been spotty, at best. He was moved to SmackDown so his matches could be edited because they featured so many blown spots.

Then, as the character was getting over, he was taken off television for a month at Money In the Bank. It was later revealed that he was suspended for failing a drug test.

After he was suspended, there were serious doubts that he would be returning to WWE because of his bad attitude backstage.

The company came up with the brilliant idea of having a fake Sin Cara take the real Sin Cara's place and then have the two work a feud with each other.

Regardless of how good or bad this match is, the "Good" Sin Cara needs some good karma in order to start getting over with the WWE audience.

Christian

Match: Christian vs. Sheamus

Quick, name the last time that Christian legitimately won a pay-per-view match?

Time’s up. The correct answer would be Extreme Rules all the way back in April. And even that victory was barely legitimate because Edge distracted Alberto Del Rio, which allowed Christian to climb the ladder and grab the world title.

He has gotten over with the fans, to a certain extent, because he is a good worker. But if WWE wants to make him look like a credible heel, he will have to win a match sooner or later.

Sheamus does not need the rub right now because the Orton-Henry feud is going strong, and WWE won’t bump Orton out of the SmackDown main event mix.

Beth Phoenix

4 of 4

Match: WWE Diva's Championship, Kelly Kelly (c) vs. Beth Phoenix

Much like Alberto Del Rio, Beth Phoenix’s victory (if she gets it) is going to come one event too late. It made perfect sense for her to win the women’s title at Night of Champions, but since this is WWE, and logic always takes a backseat to idiocy, Kelly Kelly retained the title.

Phoenix is the best female worker WWE has right now. She has been on a crusade to rid the WWE of the “Barbie dolls” that have been parading around the company for years. It is time to give her the women’s title.

I know Kelly Kelly is the golden child of the diva’s division, but at least Beth Phoenix knows how to run the ropes and actually look like a credible champion in the ring.
