Pittsburgh Steelers, Colt McCoy and 6 Teams and Players Being Exposed as Frauds
In the NFL, the Steelers look older and older with each game. Their run defense has fallen off the map, and the Texans and Arian Foster continue to produce yards without their best player, Andre Johnson.
The Pittsburgh offensive line is in tatters, and the Steeler offense simply cannot sustain drives without some crazy play by Big Ben Roethlisberger. With eight of the 11 starters on defense over the age of 30, age officially has to be a question for this team.
Meanwhile, the Browns simply cannot stretch the field with Colt McCoy's arm. Colt is regarded as a great team player, a smart guy and a good leader. Problem is, his arm is keeping his ceiling as a quarterback down. McCoy may be the best passer on the Browns roster, but it remains to be see whether he can be the guy long-term.
Let's take a look at some of the other players and teams who are frauds.
Atlanta Falcons
1 of 6When the Falcons traded up for Julio Jones in the draft, a lot of experts thought that it would be enough to get them to a Super Bowl.
Turns out they have more problems than they had initially thought. Their offensive line has not played well, and they are not getting the same production out of a lot of players on defense as they did last year. If Roddy White can't stay healthy, this team is in a bit of trouble.
Rex Grossman
2 of 6Rex got himself a very impressive win over the Giants in Week 1, but since then, it's been back to Bad Rex/Good Rex.
He still irritates fans with his ability to show you something positive to make you believe he is a quality starting quarterback, but then he sends you right back down to earth with a bonehead interception.
Philadelphia Eagles
3 of 6After the Eagles fell to 1-3 in losing to the 49ers, Andy Reid officially has to be on the hot seat. Opposing teams continue to take advantage of their inability to stop the run, and the offense relies too heavily on Michael Vick to make plays. The offensive line cannot run-block, making it difficult to sustain drives.
Who would have thought the dream team would come out of its first four games with just one win?
Wayne Hunter
4 of 6The Jets' replacement for Damien Woody at right tackle has struggled mightily in his first three starts this season. Sunday night, he will see a lot of Terrell Suggs, which does not bode well for Mark Sanchez and the Jets.
Doug Free
5 of 6Free had a nice season in 2010 and cashed in during free agency. However, he was supposed to be the only reliable player on the young Cowboys line, but he has had an inconsistent year so far.
Tony Romo is taking a lot of hits, and it is beginning to show with the number of poor decisions and interceptions he is throwing.
Sean Smith
6 of 6Before the season started, Vontae Davis stated that he and Sean Smith were the best pair of corners in football.
While Davis certainly has some talent, his teammate is consistently picked on, and Miami's pass defense has suffered from Smith's poor play.
