The Yankees are ahead 1-0 in the series after a 9-1 victory over the Tigers last night in Game 1 of this best-of-five series.

Ivan Nova was nearly untouchable until the ninth inning, and Robinson Cano had himself a six-RBI game, highlighted by his grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning.
