The Yankees are ahead 1-0 in the series after a 9-1 victory over the Tigers last night in Game 1 of this best-of-five series.

Ivan Nova was nearly untouchable until the ninth inning, and Robinson Cano had himself a six-RBI game, highlighted by his grand slam in the bottom of the sixth inning.

Today, youngster Max Scherzer will try and get the Tigers back on track, while the Yankees counter with veteran Freddy Garcia, who actually spent part of the 2008 season pitching for the Tigers.

There's not a cloud in the sky, so we should not see players dodging raindrops this afternoon as we close in on the first pitch at 3:07 p.m. EDT.
