2011 MLB Schedule: All 3 Home Teams Will Win on Sunday

Austin GreenOct 2, 2011

Three Game 2's will take place on Sunday, and I'm expecting each home team to prevail.

The Yankees, Phillies, and Brewers all have opportunities to take commanding 2-0 leads in their respective series, and I think all three will do just that.

Philadelphia and Roy Halladay survived an early scare on Saturday to beat the Cardinals 11-6.

After a three-run jack by Lance Berkman in the first inning, Halladay showed why the pitching throne is his by going H.A.M. all over the St. Louis lineup.

Halladay was just filthy once he got settled in, retiring 21 batters in a row before handing the ball over to the bullpen.

On Sunday, the Phillies will trot out professional mercenary Cliff Lee, and I'm expecting a similarly dominant performance from him.

Lee was nasty as usual during the regular season, striking out 238 batters and posting a 2.40 ERA.

The game starts at 3:07 eastern time on TNT.

Brewers over Diamondbacks

Milwaukee pitcher Yovani Gallardo was dominant in Game 1, limiting the not-so-potent Arizona lineup to just four hits and one earned run. He got some help from everyone's favorite pudgy power hitter, Prince Fielder, who hit a 2-run homer in the 7th.

Given that the Arizona offense is offensive to hitting coaches everywhere, and 16-6 Zack Greinke takes the mound for Milwaukee in Game 2, I'm predicting another victory for the Brew Crew.

The game starts at 5:07 ET on TBS.

Yankees over Tigers

The Yankees were dominant in the two-day Game 1 that was finished on Saturday because of heavy rain on Friday.

Robinson Cano homered in the sixth inning and drove in five runs total. Pitchers C.C. Sabathia and Ivan Nova allowed just three hits combined in seven innings of work.

Freddy Garcia will be on the mound for New York on Sunday, facing Max Sherzer of Detroit.

Look for the brutal Yankees lineup to rough up Sherzer on the way to another easy victory.

Game 2 starts at 8:07 ET on TBS.
