Rays vs. Rangers: Why Tampa Bay Will Continue Its Hot Streak in Texas

Tampa Bay is the scariest team in the MLB postseason by far. The New York Yankees should have put the team away when they had the chance. The Rays will continue to prove why they are the hottest team in baseball tonight in Texas against the Rangers as they move to 2-0.

Joe Maddon has played all the right hands in this series so far and in September. From starting rookie Matt Moore to playing Kelly Shoppach, Maddon continues to wheel and deal unlike any manager in the AL this season.

If it wasn’t for him continuing to push his team when they were 53-50 in July, the Rays wouldn’t be in this situation.

He will push the right buttons once again to move the Rays to a 2-0 series lead.

C.J. Wilson looked like the rookie starting in his first postseason game, not Moore. The Rays battered him around for six runs in his five innings of work. If he wants to be considered the ace, he needs to perform better than that.

Texas needs quality pitching like last year's postseason for the team to see success. If its ace doesn’t do it, who will?

We haven’t seen how much of a factor not having Cliff Lee has been on the club this season, but it will poke its head out in this series. They need a “stopper” to tie the series up or win on the road and they don’t have that on the roster.

Tampa Bay is the real deal.

The Rays got the experience in their lineup with Johnny Damon, B.J. Upton, Evan Longoria and others to mix with young talented players like Desmond Jennings.

This team is clicking on all cylinders and they want to make the Yankees regret their decision of not playing their hardest.

No team is playing better than Tampa Bay right now. The Rays believe in themselves and they have what it takes to win the World Series.
