MLB Playoffs Rays vs Rangers Game 1 Live Blog: Play-by-Play Analysis, Reaction

Jamal WilburgJun 5, 2018

2011 MLB Playoffs start this afternoon when the Tampa Bay Rays face the Texas Rangers in the American League Division Series (ALDS).

Bleacher Report's live coverage will keep you informed from the opening pitch to the final out.

The Tampa Bay Rays are fresh off of their improbable entrance into the postseason as the AL Wild Card team, and are looking to continue their dream season against the team that bounced them out of the ALDS last season.

Taking the mound for the Rays will be rookie pitcher Matt Moore.

The Texas Rangers successfully defended their AL West Championship and are coming off their best regular season in franchise history. They are looking to resume their unfinished business from last season when they lost to the San Francisco Giants in the World Series.

Taking the mound in Game 1 will be C.J. Wilson.

When these two teams met in the ALDS last season, the road team won all five games. One thing to watch for this season is whether or not home field will continue to be a non-factor.

Stay tuned to this live blog for updates and analysis throughout the game.

Tampa Bay Rays take Game 1 of ALDS 9-0 over Texas Rangers.
