MLB Postseason 2011: Tampa Bay Rays Magic Will Propel Them Past Texas Rangers
The Tampa Bay Rays are the scariest team in baseball right now. It's not because they are the best team in the postseason by any means, but the 2010 San Francisco Giants proved that nobody wants to mess with Cinderella in October
The Rays overcame impossible odds to earn a playoff berth. Clinching a wild-card spot by rallying back from an 0-7 hole is only made more impressive because they did it against the Yankees.
That win will be remembered forever by Rays fans, but it's hard to believe that their magical ride will peak in the end of the postseason.

Best Bobblehead Giveaways of 2026 MLB Season 😀
The Rays are coming into the postseason grossly underrated. Just like the Giants last season, not many people really expect the World Series trophy to make its way to Tampa Bay when the playoffs are all said and done.
The Texas Rangers are one of the hottest teams in baseball, having won six in a row. They are going to be a worthy adversary for the Rays, but if Tampa Bay's comeback proves everything it's that they have the wherewithal to stare down adversity and emerge victorious.
Michael Young and the Rangers aren't going to make it easy on the Rays by any means, but we learn time and time again that once teams enter the postseason, regular-season records mean absolutely nothing. Get into the mix and it's an entirely new season.
The Rays have to feel like the stars are aligning for them. Last night was like a scene straight out of the movie Angels in the Outfield. They needed a miracle to get to where they are, and squandering their chance with a loss in the ALDS doesn't seem like the ending to this fairytale.
With the Red Sox collapsing and the Rays willing their way to victory, the Rays are the team nobody wants to play right now. It's not their lineup or James Shields that has the opposition concerned, it's fate.
