WWE Hell in a Cell 2011: Why Sheamus Will Shatter Christian in Their Match
The WWE is frantically looking for new feuds that will pique the fans' interest. It may have finally stumbled upon one.
Even with the changes and the addition of the “Super Show” it would appear that SmackDown is still a few steps ahead of Raw in its talent and the emergence of Mark Henry as a true threat as an old-style heel in the WWE.
Creative has done a great job of making him the unstoppable force that the company has lacked for some time.

But, while Henry is embroiled in a feud with Randy Orton (who is getting some serious heat from Cody Rhodes), the creative team for the program has worked hard to develop other angles that appear to be just as entertaining, of course Sheamus and Christian being a focal point of a feud that could be better than Orton and Christian when the World title was at stake.
But it is funny that the Sheamus/Christian angle is really predicated on what happens with Orton and his quest to unseat the current champion, Henry. Henry took apart the former champion in such fashion at Night of Champions, the likes of which we had not seen in some time. It was almost unpleasant to watch in the way Orton sold for Henry in how he manhandled a man who behind the scenes is hard to work with and complains to get his way.
Sheamus should be able to take Christian apart for many reasons that pertain to title contention. While fans will enjoy seeing Henry and Orton go at it this time around and maybe another time or two, it is hard to see that kind of feud continue to grow because the chemistry between Christian and Orton was good and it was an old-school feud that took the time to build, grow and succeed. Henry is not as dynamic as Christian is or was and while he is still green, Sheamus is more flexible and workable. He will sell for Christian and it appears Christian will sell for him.
By allowing Sheamus to run through Christian as he has so far, it proves a few things. First, the WWE wants another face (I never thought I would see Sheamus as a face) to meet with Henry. Someone new and fresh.
Second, the feud that was started with Sheamus was successful and it proved the younger Irishman could hold his own with someone a little more stiff than he is. The two could feud back and forth for many months over a period of time, or pick up the rivalry when it was warranted.
Third, it appears people are getting tired of Christian and his shtick. His whining and fussing are not winning over the crowds and they are growing tired of the same angle Christian puts on week after week in television.
Sheamus is more contemporary and crowd-pleasing and while Orton seems to have his hands full with Rhodes right now, the time is right for Sheamus to go on a rampage much like Henry has done in getting to the World title. Having Sheamus prove he can run through the veteran Christian just shows the WWE is thinking about the future and who can truly challenge for a title over the long haul.
