NFL Power Rankings: Which Teams Have Best Shot at 0-16?
After three weeks of the NFL season we have a much clearer picture of the league's contenders and bottom-feeders. While five teams have yet to win a game, only two of them have a real shot at going winless: the Kansas City Chiefs and the Indianapolis Colts.
The Kansas City Chiefs fell 20-17 to a lackluster San Diego Chargers team in Week 3 and continued to look like a team with absolutely no identity. The Chiefs gained just 252 total yards, and though quarterback Matt Cassel finally looked competent (102.1 quarterback rating), he also threw a late interception that halted any chances of a comeback.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Though the passing attack improved in Week 3, it still ranks 31st in the NFL, averaging just 130.7 yards per game.
Kansas City has lost three of its best players—Eric Berry, Jamaal Charles and Tony Moeaki—for the season and clearly hasn't recovered from those losses. What was supposed to be a stout defense is allowing 383.3 yards and an NFL-worst 36.2 points per game.
While the Chiefs will likely back into a win at some point, it won't be easy and it shouldn't be counted on. I doubt they will go 0-16, but as of now they don't look like a team that wants to avoid that fate.
The Indianapolis Colts lost a 23-20 heart-breaker to the Pittsburgh Steelers Sunday night to drop to 0-3. Then they received more devastating news on Monday afternoon as Colts owner Jim Irsay said he didn't expect star quarterback Peyton Manning to return this season. While most of us assumed that was the case, having those fears confirmed had to be hard on the team mentally.
Originally the team was just hoping to tread water through the first few weeks of the season until Manning returned. Part of the motivation was that the four-time MVP would be back to right the ship at some point and veteran Kerry Collins just had to eke out a win here and there to keep Indianapolis' playoff hopes alive. Well, after three weeks Collins may have played himself right out of a job.
The Colts offense has looked awful, and without Manning returning that won't chance any time soon. A team that has always won because of a vaunted passing attack now ranks 27th in the NFL in passing yards per game (164). The running game hasn't been much better, checking in at 21st in the league with 90 yards per game.
With Manning out, an 0-3 record and almost nothing to play for the Colts look like the worst team in all of football. Expecting an 0-16 season is definitely a stretch, but as of now they are the NFL's safest bet to turn in that kind of campaign.
