Michael Vick Injury: Why Eagles Should Turn to Mike Kafka with Hurting Vick
As expected, Michael Vick is an injury waiting to happen on the football field. He injured his hand against the New York Giants.
Vick hasn’t done great against the Giants. If he continues to put up average numbers while showing that his hand is bugging him, Mike Kafka should enter the game and stay in to give them the best opportunity to win.
If Vick proves that he is 90-100 percent healthy, then he should stay in the game. If he doesn’t, then you got to go to the backup for the rest of the game.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Hand-offs, taking the ball from center and overall knowing that it is injured will hurt the Eagles as a whole. At any moment Vick could fumble the snap or mess up handing the ball over to his running backs.
In a game as close as this is, miscues in the fourth quarter could cost you the football game. One mis-handled snap and the Giants could capitalize off your turnover.
Also, how more injured can Vick’s hand become if he stays in the game? Is it an injury that could get worse if hit in the right spot?
Both are questions that need to be answered for head coach Andy Reid.
Kafka is a capable replacement; he proved that last week in a tough environment in Atlanta. In a perfect world, Vince Young would be able to step in and get the job done. That is what they brought him over for. However, that isn’t the case because of his injury.
Kafka went 7-9 for 72 yards last week.
The Eagles are down in the fourth quarter to the Giants at home. The decision needs to happen now. Do you go with a guy who has struggled who also has an injured hand, or do you go with a fresh, inexperienced quarterback?
Reid gets paid to make the tough decisions, and this one is definitely a tough one.
