Sidney Rice is active for Seattle's home opener against Arizona, according to Rotoworld's Staff.

Sidney Rice, who is expected to make his 2011 debut at home against Arizona, is not worried about aggravating his shoulder injury, according to Seattle Times' Danny O'Neil.

"

"Rice was asked if he has any doubts about the readiness of his shoulder.

'I'm fine,' Rice said. 'If there were any questions, I'm sure coach and those guys wouldn't even have me out there. I feel comfortable, I'm ready to go and we'll see how it goes Sunday.'"

"

Still, you should wait to see how he performs this week in a favorable matchup before playing him. Tarvaris Jackson has been terrible and Rice could very well aggravate that injury.

Break out the champagne and apple cider for the kiddies. The Seattle Seahawks tweeted this piece of good news to Seattle Seahawks fans on Friday.

I would take caution before starting Rice in your fantasy leagues. He has a great matchup, but I fear the Seahawks will force the issue with him, or treat him with kid gloves. There will be no in between.

The threat of re-injury or being given very little reps is high for his first week back. Only start him in deep leagues, or if you are hurting at receiver.

Pro Football Talk tweeted that Sidney Rice may be playing with a torn labrum. The article link in the tweet indicates that the Seahawks are going to try to strengthen the area around the damaged labrum to try to keep him from having surgery.

Thursday, Sept. 22 at 1:55 p.m. EST

ESPN's John Clayton tweeted some good news for Seahawks fans who have been clamoring for some offense.

The Seahawks have been dreadful with the ball in their hands this season. The Cardinals have been equally bad on defense. Sidney Rice couldn't have asked for a better matchup to test his shoulder.

Fantasy owners should practice caution. I would take a chance on him in deeper leagues. Rice has the ability to torch the Cardinals if he is close to full health.

Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9:15 a.m. EST

As if the previous reports didn't sooth you enough, Liz Matthews of ESPN 710 tweeted that he was a full participant in practice,

That is good news, but the bad news is that he still has Tavaris Jackson throwing him the ball. If you are confident in Jackson getting the ball to Rice, feel at ease putting him in the lineup this week.

Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 7:33 p.m. EST

Like most of the signings in Seattle this summer, Rice has been worthless thus far. The Seahawks face an uphill battle from an 0-2 hole, and need the playmaking receiver on the field as soon as possible.

Certain players, receivers and defensive backs, can play through the injury while others, quarterbacks and offensive lineman, can't.

According to Jay Glazer, via Pro Football Talk, Rice is going to try and play:

If Rice can get on the field with former Viking quarterback, Tarvaris "Third-and-Long" Jackson, it will be a huge boost to this offense.

Wednesday, Sept. 21 at 5:39 p.m. EST

ESPN still has Rice as inactive as of Wednesday. They do cite Foxsports and The Seattle Times as stating the wideout can play in Week 3.

Danny O'Neail of The Seattle Times reports Rice actually has a torn labrum, an injury that head coach Pete Carroll is optimistic about.

He tells the paper:

"

This would be a big week for us to test him. He was at about 80 percent last week. If you had watched practice, you would think he could play. But we didn't hit him, we didn't knock him around. We won't know until we get him more active with him in practice. We'll know more this week.

"

John P. Boyle, who covers the Seahawks for The Everett Herald, had some news to tweet about on Wednesday afternoon.

Having Rice on the field would be a huge boost for the Seahawks, who have missed a consistent threat on the wings in the early goings.
