NFL Power Rankings: 3 Undefeated Teams That Will Keep Climbing

Michael DixonSep 21, 2011

How much can we learn from an 0-2 start? As it relates to these teams, we can learn a lot.

Now, I am not saying that these teams will all go 16-0. Actually, since two of them play each other twice, that's impossible.

But through the first two weeks, these have been some of the top teams in the league. When Week 3 is over, they won't be any lower than they are right now.

New England Patriots

All of a sudden, the Week 3 showdown with the Bills is one of the weekend's most anticipated games. Nobody exactly expected a 2-0 start from the Bills, but here we are.

The Patriots aren't a team that would ever neglect anyone. They could play a Pop Warner team and would prepare like they're playing the top team in the league.

Unfortunately for the Bills, I don't see enough from their defense to make me think that they will do anything against Tom Brady and the New England offense.

The Bills will score plenty of points, but a shootout with the Patriots is not a winning idea. Look for a tough game, but New England will pull through in the end.

The Packers won't lose the No. 1 spot until they lose, but I don't see New England being any worse than No. 2.

Detroit Lions

The Vikings could be 2-0, but instead sit at 0-2. The Lions are just as good as, if not better than any team the Vikings have faced.

I fully expect Minnesota to be 0-3 by the end of the week. Only I don't see this one being close.

Detroit has the weapons in place to really negate what Minnesota does well. If Adrian Peterson can't dominate the game, the Vikings have very little chance.

Look for Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson to connect early and often. The Lions are one of the rising teams in the NFL. They may fall off at some point, but Week 3 will not be that time.

New York Jets

The Raiders have a strong group of receivers, but the Jets have the defense to stop them. I don't see the Jets offense completely dominating, but I don't expect a big challenge here.

Oakland will have a hard time keeping the offensive attack on the New York defense.

The Jets will control the clock and Mark Sanchez will make the necessary passes. This time next week, it'll be hard to see the Jets at any position lower than where they're at right now.
